The history of Pusignan and its heritage: Once upon a time there was a small Gallic village on this hill of morainic origin. In 1689, Louis XIV decided to help James II of England to reconquer his throne by sending an expeditionary force to Ireland. Claude Costaing of Pusignan commanded the infantry with the title of Field Marshal.
